Well had a lovely a day on the twenty foot drain today, despite only catching two jacks and losing what felt like a sizeable fish.
Started fishing about 6am, hoping to catch a zander, but the zeds were not showing.
First fish came at around 8am, and the bigger one showed about an hour or so later, which I was unfortunate enough to loose. Spent the best part of a morning at the first two swims and the afternoon at another part just downstream from where I was, where I caught the second one. Both fish were caught on roach dead baits and in immaculate condition.
This new part of Twenty Foot drain is really starting to take a place in my heart.
Very peaceful venue and not hammered. Only saw about three anglers throughout the day.
The bream and tench were even on the feed at the second swim I tried. Parts of the swim were coloured, and like a witches cauldron. Sort of wished I brought the feeder rod along as well!
Anyway definitely buying a WAA book for the new season, and will be visiting a lot in the summer and the winter months. Cannot wait!
