Wednesday 24th September – Ely Ouse

Well managed to get an evening on my favourite fenland river before my hols, with a good mate of mine.

Spent a couple of hours catching some quality roach, then the Zander rods were cast out. Turned out to be a great start to my predator season.

I had a small zander first about a pound, then it went dead until quite late into the evening.

At around 11pm, I was thinking of packing up, then the buzzer beeped a couple of times, and the tip started nodding. Struck into the fish and five minutes later, a beautiful 10ib 1oz speciman zander graced the net. Very happy and my pb zed, so far this year!

Both zander wer caught on freshly caught course dead baits. The top one a small roach and my pb this year so far, on a hand sized skimmer. River full of them here!

Best predator session for so me so far this year, and looking forward to more!
