Saturday 19th December – Twenty Foot Drain

Christmas Party tonight, so fancied a few hours of calm before the festivities later in the day.

On this occasion it was more of a exploration trip with my newly acquired acquisition. My trusty wheelbarrow. I know people will laugh at this, but after going on a trip with the fenland pike guru and very good friend Denis Moules, I thought I would purchase one myself, but only got round to buying one this year!

The only thing missing is the camo paint job.

I walked for about a mile or so, and eventually found a spot which looked untouched by anglers.  I spent the morning there and had a pretty jack, and also a missed run.

I then loaded up the wheelbarrow again, and ventured a bit further. I had a second jack around the five pound mark.

That was all I had on this occasion, but it was great fun exploring the more remote parts of this  particular fenland drains. Also a successful maiden trip for the wheel barrow! lol
