Forty Foot Drain Success

Well my last season ended on a high, as had some cracking pike from the forty foot, which has been a long time in coming for me. This is a very moody drain, some seasons it can be really hard work, and it looks like there is no fish in it. Some seasons it fishes it very well.

This particular day proved to be one of the good day for me.

Arrived to find pike smashing into the shoals of bait fish, every few minutes. I also had a feeder rod out, which also proved to be successful. Plenty of roach and few good sized perch to add to the net.

The two best pike of the day. As you can see, they were feeding very well.

Both pike were caught on live roach baits.

Overall a cracking day was had, and I am intending on returning at some point, to have a go for the now elusive forty foot drain zander.
