My 2018 Season So Far

Sorry I haven’t updated this for a very long time, but have just managed to get my website back on line, after a major issue, which involved losing comments, photos and other stuff. Anyway all sorted now!

Summer 2018

I have had some fantastic catches from waters around the fens during the summer months, even though I didn’t get out much as I would of liked too. Most of my fishing was done during the evenings, after work, which was very productive. I had some fantastic bream catches and some stunning rudd, from one particular venue which is a still water . I have included some photos below.

Lovely brace of Rudd from April 2018
2.8ib of pure gold from June 2018

The catches above were the highlight for me during the summer months.

As for the tench fishing, this was a bit of a disappointment, and didn’t see many reports of them coming out of the fens. As for me, I actually had none in the summer, which is a first for me.

One of those things, but could change in the coming season.

Autumn 2018

As the days started to get shorter and the temperatures dropped, I then decided to hang up my summer gear, and look at getting my gear sorted for some predator fishing, but first I took my little boy out for a session on a small fenland river. We got there at the crack of dawn, and set up the rods. I fished with the feeder rod and my little boy was fishing with a float rod. He whipped my arse and caught plenty of small perch and roach, all through the day. I only managed a few on the feeder.

My boy taking it all in. We both had a cracking day.
One the cute little perch he had.

After taking Jake home, I then sneaked out for a few hours and to bag a fenland zed. It was a very slow, but I ended up with a lovely zander, about an hour or so before I packed up, It was a start to fantastic few months!

Nice 8ib zed

Keep an eye on the posts for more reports!
