Hope everyone had a great Christmas!
Cracking day on the land drains, with a couple of good mates and one of which is just getting back into pike fishing. We had three fish between us from our first venue, two of which were doubles. Mackerel seemed to be the preferred baits as all three were caught on mini mackerel and tails. The drain was in fine form, lovely colour in the water and levels were perfect. We tried a second land drain and unfortunately I lost yet another good fish, took my bait into the weed bed on the edge and shook the hooks out. That was all the action we had in the afternoon.
Got some time off towards the end of the week, so hopefully will get a couple of sessions in then. Keep you posted!
