First zander session of the year for me. Went straight after work. River was again covered in duckweed, but just about fishable. Before the weed got too thick, I was able to pull out a few roach and perch on a simple float setup. As darkness fell. I chucked the zander gear out, baited up with a freshly caught roach from a couple of hours earlier. Had a couple of twitches on the rod, then the buzzer went. One small zander, of around 2ib. I also had a dropped run, later in the night. Didn’t blank, despite the conditions so was happy with what I had. I am hoping to get a full day in the fens in the next couple of weeks. Will keep you all posted on how I get on.
