First weekend at Ten Mile Bank this year. Plan was to go after the bream, roach and tench during the day and the zander through the night.
It turned out to be a strange weekend. Had a nice zander first cast just before first light, then some cracking roach and the odd skimmer during the day on the feeder. No bream at all. Also plagued by crayfish, which is a first for me at ten mile bank, and landed one on the bank. As the daylight drew to a close, the zander rods went out. Had one missed run, that’s it.
Overall the roach feeder fishing was fantastic, but the zander fishing rather disappointing. Good to have one zed, but I know that stretch can do better. Probably wait for it to cool down a bit more and the remaining weed to clear down a bit more before I head back down there for another go after the zeds and pike.
However it was lovely to be back out in the fens for the weekend.
