Saturday 4th-Sunday 5th July – Ten Mile Bank/River Lark

Ten Mile Bank

Got here nice and early on Saturday. Plenty of fish rolling and feeding off the opposite bank. Chucked out a feeder and hooked into a nice bream on the drop, quickly followed by a few more then it went quite, probably due to the temperatures soaring into the upper twenty’s! and no cloud.

It stayed like this until the evening.

When the temperatures dropped, the fish returned onto the feed. I had a couple more skimmers and a nice roach. Then it went quite again. I then chucked out a couple of zander rods with a couple of fresh baits and left them out overnight. Woke up the following morning, and they hadn’t been touched.  I gave it a few more hours, then decided to move to the River Lark. The fish just were not in the feeding mood.

River Lark

After a rather disappointing session on the Ouse, i moved to the River Lark.

Again it was very hard session. All I managed was a few perch and a big eel.

Then typically, the heavens opened, and I decided to head home.

Overall it was a disappointing weekends fishing, and probably made worse by the extremely hot weather.

Hoping things will pick up soon!
